Too exhausted and overwhelmed to show up as the parent you want to be?
This Workshop Will Help You Reimagine & Revitalize Your Parenting
Build Community, Release Generational Patterns, and Call in a Juicy New Vision of Parenthood
Your Childhood is Sneaking Into Your Parenting Style
Heart pounding, you yell “Just STOP it!” to your screaming child. Turning away to gulp in some shaky breaths, you think, “Damn, I sound just like my mom.” Guilt and shame wash over you as your kiddo’s screaming gets louder.
Before you became a parent, you had visions of how calm, loving, and centered you would be. “I’ll do it differently than how I was raised,” you thought.
And on most days, you do. But sometimes everything is just. Too. Much.
You wish you had the space and energy to get more intentional about how you show up as a parent.
You long for support from other parents who get it, and who won’t judge you for your struggles.
You want to shift these generational patterns so that your kiddo doesn’t inherit your trauma, and so you can feel more playful, joyful, and calm as a parent.
We’re Not Meant to Do This Alone
Too often in today’s social context we’re left isolated in single-family units doing the job that entire communities are meant to share.
No wonder loneliness, guilt, confusion, and rage course through our bodies!
Here’s the thing, though: we actually don’t have to do this alone.
Studies show that community support can radically shift people’s experience of parenting, including:
Boosting confidence in your parenting abilities
Reducing stress, anxiety, and depression
Reducing feelings of isolation

Introducing…
Intergenerational Healing: Raising Littles and Reimagining Legacies
A Two-Part Workshop for Mamas and Birthing Parents
September 11 & 25 / Oakland, CA / 5:30 - 8:00 pm
Join Katherine Mancera, AMFT and Natalíe Ortega, ASW – two fierce healing professionals and mamas – for a two-part workshop supporting birthing parents in intergenerational healing.
The workshops combine reflection, embodied practices, and community support so you can release the generational patterns that are holding you back, harness the strengths of your ancestors, and create a new, juicy vision for the parent you want to be.
Hi, We’re Natalíe and Katherine!
We’re two mamas who have been there…
After our first kiddos were born, we were both struggling. Traumatic birth experiences, sleep deprivation, and distant families made for a potent cocktail of overwhelm and distress.
Luckily for us, we met in a postpartum support group. Our crew of frazzled, stained-sweatpant-wearing, awestruck mamas cried, raged, laughed, and — most importantly — supported each other through the beautiful and insane months of postpartum.
And we continue supporting each other as our kiddos grow up and we navigate the changing world we live in.
We are both more connected, supported, and joyful because of that experience.
We believe that community support is essential for not just surviving, but thriving, as a parent.
That’s what inspired us to create this community workshop for birthing parents.
Together, we hope to create a space of cultivation and transformation, holding space for the hard parts of this experience while inviting in more joy, rest, and laughter.

Let’s Face It:
This Way of Parenting is Costing You
Shaky tears flow after you’ve reacted to your child in a way that did not feel good…
Rage, blame, and resentment at your parenting partner/s churns in your stomach and feel impossible to communicate…
Bone-deep exhaustion at the end of another long day when you are just done…
You know you need support, but it feels impossible to get it.
Therapy sounds lovely but it just doesn’t feel possible to set aside all the money and time to make it happen.
The parenting books pile up on your shelf, and – even if you do manage to crack one open – it just makes you feel inadequate that you’re not doing it “the right” way.
Your friends are great, but they’re overwhelmed with their own lives and sometimes their advice feels reductive or judg-y.
Let us support you, and your tender heart, in community.
You’re holding so much as a parent. For once, let someone else hold space for you.
We already know one thing: you have a unique and beautiful way of parenting.
Let’s create space for you to release what’s not working so that your strengths can blossom.

Yes! Offering a sliding scale comes from a desire to create multiple access points for the wild and big hearts called to learn with us. If you'd like a sliding scale spot, please email natalielorraineortega@gmail.com. Here's some guidance:
$375 is the top of the sliding scale and the actual cost of the workshops.
$250 is the middle of the scale and is for those who are able to meet basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income.
$125 is the bottom of the scale and is for those for whom paying the full fee would be a significant hardship.

Please do! We know this workshop is smack dab in the middle of most dinner times, so we’ll set aside some time for you to eat.

-
The workshop space is on the second floor of the building, and there are elevators.
